“…you can only see what you are ready to see – what mirrors your mind at that particular time.”
~Henry David Thoreau
I’ve had an idea in mind for awhile, but in all honesty, after the loss of my Grama, it seemed like the creativity had just been sucked out of me. Then, I remembered why I picked up a camera in the first place. My camera allows me to examine life from new perspectives. It allows me to create. It offers things for me to write about. I helps me capture beauty, and it helps me create beauty. So, after hammering out my thoughts a bit more, I decided to see what I could come up with.
Alyssa is one of my “go to” girls when I have a creative idea because of her sweet personality, keen sense of fashion, and interest in modeling. So, I told her that I wanted to create a Holiday inspired outdoor series.. I am not big on using props in photographs. I like to keep things real, simple, and authentic to the subject. Being so close to my two favorite holidays, I collected some Christmas cheer, and I asked Alyssa to make a poster for our shoot. Didn’t she do an awesome job? When we were shooting, I asked her what her favorite Thanksgiving food was.
A beautiful grin erupted, and she said, “mashed potatoes”.
mmmmmmmm!
