A Love Story ~ Mitch & Breanna’s Engagement Session

I spend a lot of my time traveling down the section lines.  Rural America knows what I mean by section lines.  They are the lines you see from the skies when you travel over rural geography.  They are the country roads that join farm to farm, 1 mile at a time.  And they are my favorite roads to drive when I am traveling to a portrait session.  You see the most beautiful attributes of rural America from the gravelled and rutted section line roads. These section lines took me to rural Oakland, Nebraska to the Nissen Family Farm to meet my bride and groom for their engagement session.

There were high hopes for snow to still be on the ground for their session, and we totally lucked out (it can go away now though, seriously).  The light was magical, and there is nothing better than to be invited to a special place that is meaningful to my clients and make that place part of their story.  Generational family farms, ranches, and land mean everything in this part of the country, and every time I get to visit and document the importance of its presence in the story of my clients, it gives me goosebumps and fills my heart.

I am incredibly blessed in that I not only get to photograph amazing people, but I get to photograph amazing people who were once my students too.  Breanna,  her brother, and her sister and brother-in-law all went through my classroom as students, and I am so honored to have been chosen to be a part of documenting their rites-of-passage and most special memories too.

Congratulations Mitch and Breanna!  Thanks for having me out to the farm, and I can’t wait for your big day, I already know it will be perfect!
