Wednesday, my family was traveling to Kearney for a fun family day. Not too far down the highway, I blew a tire due to some road shrapnel I picked up. After my loving brother and husband changed my tire, we headed on our way. Upon arriving, we stopped at Graham Tire on the North side of town to have them patch the tire until we could get back home and buy our tires locally. My hubs took the tire in, told them our predicament, and the nice man behind the counter said he would take care of us right away. After finishing, my husband asked him what we owed, and the man said “Merry Christmas, have a good one”. After he realized he wasn’t going to take “no” for an answer, my husband gave him a tip, a thank you, and got back in the car.
These are the moments that help me remember never to allow the darkness of this world to extinguish the powerful light that flickers through the actions of so many wonderful people.
So, in my time on the couch (I was diagnosed with Influenza A yesterday), I have been trying to come up with some ways to continue the “Pay It Forward” gesture. Our family is doing some anonymous things, but I also want to offer something that I get asked about often…
So, if you received a shiny new camera in your stocking this year (or gave one to someone special), leave a comment and tell me what your biggest frustration is with picture taking and what you would like to learn. I will use a random poll generator, and whomever wins, well…we can make arrangements to meet up for a personalized lesson on what all those buttons do and how to get the most out of that shiny new toy!
Happy Shooting!
