This is Sara. Isn’t she lovely?
Facebook makes this world a very small one sometimes. When Sara contacted me, I knew I had heard her last name before. As we chatted, I realized that we had JUST missed each other in college. She moved into a dorm that I lived in just one year after I moved out, and her husband was in a fraternity to which many of my friends also belonged, and interestingly, to which my grandfather, father in law, a few uncles and a few cousins also belonged. Small, small world.
So, Sara and her beautiful daughter traveled up to Atkinson to meet me, get all dolled up with the help of my awesome hair and make-up artist, Macy, and then venture out to create some images that were worthy of showing off just how beautiful Sara is. Being that Grace came along as well, and being that Grace is the oldest of 4, and soon to be 5, children, I thought it would be lovely to create an image that celebrated that special bond of an oldest child with her mother and her soon to be sister or brother. Doesn’t she just have the most amazing blue eyes! Grace is quite the reader, and we talked all about her library’s summer reading program. I can tell she is a great student! This was one of my favorite shoots to date; they were so much fun!
I really love spending time with other women, chatting about our families, and swapping stories about the adventures in motherhood. It really is a sisterhood, being a mom, and in this world where society seems to make women think they are never “good enough”, I think it is especially important to lift all moms up.
It isn’t easy being superwoman, but that’s what a mom is. Everyday.
Sara, you are beautiful, and I hope that you had as much fun as I did! I wish you and your family the warmest congratulations on your newest bundle of joy!
