I want to ensure that each of you leave feeling like you have participated in something very special, an experience that was fun, authentic, and resulted in cherished images that not only make you smile when you look at them, but are quality heirlooms meant to last, heirlooms that will remind generation after generation about your story.
Step 1) Planning Session: Because I value your time, the portrait creation process begins by meeting with you personally to discuss your specific needs, so we can get to know one another and create your plan in one appointment. We will develop a portrait creation plan that includes location choice, clothing style preference, and art display goals. During this appointment, you will have the opportunity to view and touch heirloom art products, we can measure the walls in your home, so you can have an idea of what you would like to create, and you can ask questions in order to feel completely comfortable prior to the portrait session. Finally, we will choose your session date and time, along with a date and time for your post session reveal and order appointment. Then, after paying your session retainer and signing your portrait contract, you will be ready for your portrait session!
Step 2) Your Session: Let’s have fun! When we meet for your portraits, my goal is for everyone to have a fun and relaxing experience. This is an opportunity to allow your personalities to shine. My style blends together both photojournalistic lifestyle images with posed imagery, so you can enjoy a nice balance in your final gallery. I will guide you in a way that keeps the session relaxed, authentic, and fun, while giving you enough direction to ensure that your expressions and posture, as well as environmental elements and clothing are aesthetically pleasing.
Step 3) Portrait Reveal and Ordering Session: After your session is complete, you will come back to my studio on the date we scheduled for your post session reveal and order appointment, OR I can come to your home. All creative and financial decision makers should be at this appointment, and I would encourage you to arrange for child care, so you can feel completely relaxed and focused. During certain times, I also have a child who is a certified baby-sitter who is available. Of course you are encouraged to have your baby with you if you are new parents, I would be happy to assist you by snuggling your newborn while you make your choices! At this appointment, you will see your images for the first time, choose your favorites, and I can help guide you in how you want to showcase your collection best in your home. I also offer complimentary wall art design service, so you can see how your portraits can be grouped and displayed! We will complete your purchases at the end of this appointment. Due to the custom nature of my design services, I do not offer online viewing, so as to make the ordering process as efficient, personal, and simple as possible for my clients. This appointment is really a wonderful opportunity to take care of everything regarding your portraits, so you don’t have any loose ends and can go home with the excitement and anticipation of knowing EXACTLY what will happen! All you have to do is wait for those beautiful portraits to be delivered!
Step 4) Delivery and Installation: 3-4 weeks after your order appointment (in some cases up to 6 weeks for items that are hand constructed by my small business vendors), your products will be packaged beautifully, ready for you to pick-up, or they will be delivered to you. I also offer complimentary wall hanging service to local clients who wish to have some help installing their new wall art.
How Much Should I Budget For My Heirloom Portrait Experience?
Creative Session Fees begin at $150. Session fees include your personal pre-session consultation, your portrait session, post session creative work to polish your images to ready them for your reveal, and your post session reveal and ordering appointment. Archival Quality Heirloom Art Products begin at $200, and each print product includes a digital file replica for safekeeping, web sharing, and personal printing. There is no minimum purchase requirement, but most clients budget $1500-$2500 for their heirlooms and archival digital negatives. Wedding Services begin at $2800.00.
