I met Andrew and Molly over 2 years ago when I traveled up to Fort Randall, SD to their family lake house for a family photography session. At the time, they were dating, and I got to capture a photo of them together, along with the photos of Molly’s family.  The entire family was such a joy to work with, and I was thrilled when Molly contacted me the next year, saying she had gotten engaged and wanted to chat about wedding photography.  Fast forward to another gorgeous session at the lake for their engagement photos, and then, just a few weeks ago, they said “I Do” in a beautiful, and appropriately nautically themed, wedding and reception (speaking of reception, her dad even made me cry with his beautiful speech.)  It was a gorgeous, delightful, joyous day, and I am so honored to have been able to capture it for them.

This sweet group of girls came to me to capture a series of portraits to celebrate with a 3 generation portrait session.  The little girls kept me in stitches the entire time, and it was so fun to watch them interact with each other.  There is never a better time than today to schedule portraits, and images like this just remind me how precious it is to have pictures that celebrate these special relationships. Thanks for coming to see me for your special session!

These little girls are so absolutely adorable and my boys are so happy to FINALLY have playmates living next door!  They came to see me in studio, hair all done up and ready for their little white dress session.  Little sister took a bit of time to warm up to the idea, but after seeing big sis get into it, and knowing she would get to hold onto a teddy, she was ready to get in front of the camera.  I just love how simple and sweet these images are.  No fuss, no props, just simple white dresses and adorable little girls.

The White Dress Sessions are a brand new session option for my clients, and I would love to chat with you about how we can create something special for yours!    If you call and book a session by 10PM on February 1st, you will be entered into a drawing for a beautiful 16×24 canvas!

Little White Dress

It all started with exploring an old, long abandoned house and finding an old, long abandoned trunk, FULL of children’s clothes dating back to the 1940s. Toward the bottom were a few little toddler dresses… all white… hand embroidered… simple… sweet…beautiful. The wheels started turning, and 2 hips surgeries and many months later, I am so happy to announce my new White Dress sessions!  I can’t wait!

Oh, I might have shed a few tears over this session.  Karissa, you see, was one of my beautiful flower girls in my wedding 12 years ago.  I can’t hardly believe how fast the time has gone, but she has grown into a gorgeous young lady with a promising future.  She and her mom drove all the way from Lincoln, Ne to meet me at the family ranch in central Custer County.  As kids, Kristin, her mom, and Justin, her uncle, would come visit us in the summers and on holidays with my Aunt Sue.  They were more like our siblings than our cousins, those memories are some of the most precious memories I have.  So, it was only fitting that we used that setting to create some images reflective of the deep roots of our family tree.  I am so happy I was able to do this session for her, and I can’t wait to see what she does next!
